Make Analytics opt-in #30
Comments
I would suggest opt-out. Have it selected by default. |
I'd rather have it an encouraged opt-in during the intro, telling the user that they won't get any support if they run into problems without analytics enabled. This way most people will activate it (because it takes less clicks), but F-Droid still wont give a large red warning that we are actively tracking users, because it is still opt-in. |
Make sense, I didn't grasp the FDroid constraint.

Have a loot at this: https://f-droid.org/repository/browse/?fdfilter=anecdote&fdid=io.gresse.hugo.anecdote |
- Disabled JACK Toolchain, moved to native Java 8 support instead. - Updated gradle plugin from 2.3 to 2.4-alpha6 - Removed the paragraph about bithub from the README - Rephrased some things about why 5.0 is minimum - Made analytics opt-in on first launch - Extracted strings from the intro - Added [LeakCanary](https://github.com/square/leakcanary)
Now the only thing still missing is opt-out in the settings. |
The warning on F-Droid actually went live some time ago, so this is a little more urgent now then before, when the F-Droid people didn't realize this yet. |
